Men in Sheds Haltemprice is a group that has been set up for people in the west Hull villages that used to make up Haltemprice. It caters for all men and women of all ages to provide a place where you can meet up with people and just talk or enjoy the various activities we have

News:

We are now occupying the Community Centre on First Lane, Anlaby. We have now almost completed the refurbishment with thw Workshop now up and running the garden taking shape and the repainted inside and outside has put a new feel to it.

Activities

In collaboration with The parish council and U3A we have Table Tennis, Darts , Crafts, and Music sessions. The meeting room is used regularly is ideal for groups of 20 with full Audio and Visual devices. our sports room is big enough for groups up to 30 as is our lounge.

We held our AGM on May 9th and glad to see many of our members attended sad not to see everyone but please come in if you havent been for a while. History of Anlaby a presentation by Francis Davies

We are delighted to have Francis Davis coming to talk to us and give a presentation and any one else about the history of Anlaby This has now been confirmed for the evening of 16th June starting at 7pm, and is a ticket only event Tickets are £3 for non members and £2 for members , they can be obtained from Steve Brown in the community centre this Saturday or any weekdays we are open , or you can contact us on 077957 210044 we will have doors open on the night from 6pm

Sorry but numbers are restricted to 50 seats so be quick, there will be tea or coffee and cakes for a small charge on the night.

 

Projects

Schools

Also we have a project running with Penshurst primary school in Hessle ,and a green project running with Anlaby primary school amongst others.We would welcome other schools needing help to contact us .We have even decided to open up early on Monday,Wednesday and Friday at 0845 to offer tea and a place to chat for those parents who concregate out school after delivering the kids. Starting on Wednesday 8th June on a trial basis for term time only, we look forward to you visiting.

Solar power

Our major fund raising efforts now are to raise money to pay for solar power sowe can reduce our running costs, our target is £6000 and would be happy for any help with that

Acknowledements

We want to to thank everyone who has helped us get the “show on the road” Morrisons, Wilkinsons, to name but a few have all just been brilliant as have many others, Howden Joinery have recently helped us to raise funds for a project we are carrying out now. Our initial funds came from generous donations from the Anlaby and Anlaby common parish council, Beecan, Smile Foundation and Joseph Boaz foundation.We could not have done it without their help.

Also without the help of all our members, volunteers and friends we could not have done without, thankyou all very much
